The Luztopía festival returns this year with more than 200 illuminated figures and interactive attractions, but with a very Mexican focus and in a new location: Live Gardens, in San Pedro. The seventh edition of this attraction has been officially inaugurated in the presence of Maricarmen Martínez Villarreal, Secretary of Tourism of Nuevo León, and Mauricio Magdaleno, director of the Tourism Cluster of Nuevo León.
With the theme of Mexican Christmas, Luztopía has become one of the most prominent events of the season, attracting both locals and national and international visitors. The Secretary of Tourism of Nuevo León supports this festival as part of its strategy to strengthen tourism during the winter, promote economic activity, and foster family gatherings.
In this edition, the Social Tourism program of the Secretary will provide the opportunity for 250 people from vulnerable communities, including associations such as Down Monterrey, Fundefam, the Association of the Deaf, Campanas, and the DIF, to enjoy the experience. Additionally, 15,000 tickets will be handed out to NGOs and municipal DIF to ensure that families from vulnerable sectors can access cultural and recreational events.
Luztopía, which has been designed, produced, and manufactured in Nuevo León, has managed to generate 1,200 local jobs in this edition, contributing to the economic development of the region. In the previous edition, the festival welcomed 340,000 visitors, with 58% being locals, 32% nationals (mainly from Tamaulipas, Coahuila, and Durango), and a percentage of international visitors (mainly from the United States, Canada, and Colombia).
With the support of the Secretary of Tourism of Nuevo León, Luztopía continues its commitment to social responsibility, inclusion, and strengthening the local economy, offering an inclusive and accessible celebration space for all.
